Perfect as a bee attracting garden border, but also an excellent cut flower. Its double blooms have a quilled effect to the central petals that comes in shades of gold and orange, many with a black centre. Easy to grow, so ideal for the beginner gardener.

Note: Seeds are sourced locally and in small batches to ensure they remain at their maximum viability for germination. Seeds viable for 5+ years when stored correctly in a cool, dry, dark place.

    Soil Ensure your soil is nutrient rich so prepare it with fresh manure and compost a fortnight before planting. Likes a well-drained soil type.

    Soil pH Level 6.5-7.0

    Position: Full sun but won’t mind a little afternoon shading.

    How to Plant: Sow directly into your patch when daytime temperatures regularly surpass 18-20 degrees. If still too cold, propagate in seed trays and transplant when conditions have improved.

    Companion Plants Calendulas are often used as companion plants, as they are reputed to deter pests and attract pollinators.
